WordPress Version & Plugin Checker
Check whether your WordPress website and the plugins visible from its public pages appear to be running current versions. It is particularly useful if you pay somebody for website maintenance and want a quick independent check.
Enter the website address
The checker requests publicly accessible pages and compares visible version information with WordPress.org. It does not log into the website or collect dashboard credentials.
What it can and cannot see
Does the checker log in to my WordPress website?
No. It only requests information that an ordinary visitor can access publicly.
Why can it sometimes not find my WordPress version?
Many websites hide their WordPress version as a security measure. A hidden version does not mean the site is out of date.
Why are some plugins missing?
The checker can only discover plugins that expose assets or paths on the public pages it examines. Plugins that do not load there may not be detectable.
Can I use this to check whether my maintenance company is doing its job?
It is a useful first clue. If publicly visible software is clearly behind, ask your provider why. A full maintenance review also needs authenticated checks of backups, hidden plugins, security, forms and server configuration.
